Day 8

Day 8 must be the most uneventful, boring day ever. We left the hotel at the normal time, around 09.30. The weather was significantly colder today so base layer tops were required so no chance in topping up the tan today.

We headed North on the A15 and that’s where we stayed, all day. The wind was whipping in straight off the North sea and blowing straight in our faces. The last few days really had spoiled us. Karl’s ankle had improved overnight and he coped well with the journey. When we got to Sleaford, we took shelter from the relentless wind, in Mcdonalds! As we went back to the van there was a flypast by several RAF bombers and fighter planes. We were very grateful to the RAF for the effort they went to for us. Amazing how they knew where we were!. We pressed on to Lincoln, stopping briefly at RAF Waddington for a photo opportunity. Tomorrow we will arrive in Goole for our 7th DC visit. We sre fully aware that beyond Goole the terrain and probably the weather will not be as favourable.
